The pen is mightier
than the sword

“Because it gives
this blogger
a chance to play with words,
so to speak”
(But First)
“The pen is mightier
than the sword”
is a metonymicadage
(Metonymic-Adage),
Coined by English
author Edward Bulwer-Lytton in 1839, indicating that communication
(Particularly
written language), or in some interpretations, administrative power or advocacy
of an independent
press,
is a more effective
tool than direct violence.
In other words,
“You can kill more
people
in one place
at one time
with a sword.”
However;
“You can contact
more people
more times
in many places to
‘outwit’
the sword
in time!”
