A sacrament is an outward sign

Remember the Catechism of the Catholic Church’s definition of a sacrament:

A sacrament is an outward sign instituted by Christ to give grace.

Our Lord instituted the sacraments, and the Church has the duty of preserving their integrity.

Not in other words those are the words of ' Jesus Christ'!

And

Not just Catholic's all Christians.

When Was Confession Instituted? | Catholic Answers

Only God can fully forgive sin

“If we confess our sins,

He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins

and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness”

Your sin is blotted out in 'Heaven' not on 'Earth'!

(1 John 1:9).

God’s forgiveness is supreme in that He cleanses one from sin or

“blots out your transgressions”

(Isaiah 43:25). This authority is reserved for God.

John 20:23: Did Jesus Give Authority to Forgive Sins?

John 20:23

“Whose soever sins ye remit, they are remitted unto them; and whose soever sins ye retain, they are retained.”

Luke 7:48

Mark 2:7-10

The anointing of the Holy Spirit makes this possible.

These disciples are extensions of Jesus’ ministry.

Just as Jesus said, when two agree as touching anything on this earth it shall be done of my Father in heaven.

This verse does not give authority to Christians to forgive sins.

Jesus was saying that the believer can boldly declare the certainty of a sinner’s

forgiveness by the Father because of the work of His son

if that sinner has repented and believed the gospel.
